The Backstory
It’s been over two years since I last published here on Substack through written and audio episodes under Litwithprayer.
I can still remember it like it was yesterday, being just one year into sharing my faith when I felt led to share more than short prayer videos on social media, but deeper thoughts and insights from the Bible here.
That decision led to a fun two-year journey of sharing 105 publications around Bible stories, lessons I learned along the way, and prayer. In that short time, we grew to around 1,000 subscribers—many of whom may still be reading or listening today and were part of the Litwithprayer community here.
This is a picture from when I started the SubStack back in 2020!
Why I Left
Eventually, I made the decision to move what I started here to another newsletter platform and began writing more Bible-specific posts around five times per week. This led to writing and sharing Bible studies that covered over six books of the Bible in a little over two years.
But something was missing.
I no longer had the audio experience, which I personally loved and many others did too, and the Bible studies became repetitive and not nearly as fun or life-giving an experience as I had hoped.
Why I’m Coming Back
Over the last few months, I’ve spent a lot of time with the Lord, asking Him where He wants me to go with sharing in this way and what that should look like. During that time, He helped me see what’s next.
Not only have I decided to come back to Substack and podcasting—where this fun and meaningful experience began—but I’m coming back to share a message the Lord has been stirring in my heart in a very present way.
The Mission Going Forward: Overcomers
I feel called in this season of my life to not just share Bible stories or Scripture-based prayers (though those will absolutely remain part of this), but to help believers who choose to walk this journey with me learn how to live the life of an Overcomer.
1 John 5:4–5 (NKJV) says:
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
As believers, we have the greatest gift—salvation through Jesus Christ—when we place our faith in Him as Lord and Savior. It is a free gift, given by God’s grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8), not something we can earn or be good enough for, lest anyone should boast.
This saving faith rescues us from eternal punishment, judgment, and separation from God—what we deserved, but what Jesus took upon Himself on the cross. Through His death, He paid the full price once and for all, forgiving our sins and adopting us into the family of God.
What an incredible gift—one that can easily be forgotten amid the challenges of everyday life.
But it doesn’t stop there.
Salvation is just the beginning of the believer’s life. It marks the start of a journey of being formed, shaped, and molded to live in a way that brings God glory, bears His image, and builds His Kingdom.
Because Jesus is our victory, we now stand in a position of victory. If you belong to Christ, you are already an overcomer.
The Great Threat to the Overcomer
With this great news and victorious position also comes responsibility.
Jesus told us that in this world we would face many trials and challenges—but to take heart, because He has overcome the world (John 16:33).
The life of an overcomer is lived out through faith, obedience, and partnership with the Lord, so that the trials we face don’t simply break us down, but instead refine us, strengthen us, and develop Christlike character for His purposes.
I wish I could tell you the Christian life is only blessings and goodness—but that wouldn’t be honest. And based on your own journey, you already know that.
From my 16 years of following Jesus, I can say this: the road has been filled with some of the hardest battles I would never want anyone else to endure—but through every one of them, God has remained faithful. Not only to bring me through, but to transform something within me that He now uses for His glory.
Here are a few photos that reflect the Lord’s faithfulness and what He brought forth through some of my hardest battles.

The more you look back on the battles God has delivered you from—and remember how you held onto Him, even when you had very little strength—the more you’ll see the truth of Romans 8:28:
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
God didn’t cause some of my greatest battles—but He certainly used every one of them for good.
My Journey These Last Five Years
Looking back on the last five years of sharing my faith on social media—from the moment God first called me to do this, without knowing what it would look like, to stepping away from an amazing career 2.5 years in—this season has been filled with both incredible blessings and deep refining.
This process happens to every believer who desires more from the Lord and chooses to follow Christ as a disciple after counting the cost (Luke 14:25–33).
I believe now more than ever that God is preparing those who are not satisfied with “just enough” of the Christian life, but who long for deeper intimacy with Him and greater overflow of the spiritual treasures He delights to share with those who are willing and available.
This has nothing to do with status, visibility, titles, or jobs - and everything to do with a heart willing to say yes to Him daily.
The Journey I’m Inviting You Into
My aim over the next five years and beyond is to help equip 10,000 believers to more deeply understand the position we now have in Christ as overcomers—and from that place of victory, to grow in Christian character as we prepare for His return.
As Jesus’ return draws nearer, I believe it has never been more important to grow deeply rooted in our faith and personal relationship with the Lord, so we can faithfully serve and advance God’s Kingdom in the unique ways each of us has been called.
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us:
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
God wants to work in you before He works through you. As you partner with Him in allowing that work within, He will provide the grace and enablement needed to walk out what He has prepared.
The question is—are you willing?
What to Expect from Overcomers
This is the first of two weekly publications and podcast episodes, releasing every Monday and Friday.
Throughout the year, I’ll be sharing:
Breakthroughs I’ve experienced
Hard lessons and failures I’ve learned from (and still go through)
What the Lord is teaching me in real time
Scriptures, tools, books, and resources that have helped me most
Remember: you already are an overcomer in Christ—that’s your position. But we will face trials that seek to weaken how we live from that position. This is where dependence on the Lord, spiritual maturity, and perseverance are formed.
Beyond the twice-weekly content, I’ll also be creating spaces for community through subscriber chats so we can learn from one another along the way.
I’m expectant for what the Lord is going to do here and pray that those who choose to walk this journey experience a move of God in their lives like never before.
It’s possible.
It’s available.
It’s not hidden from you.
You just have to be willing to say yes to more of Him—and no to more of yourself.
Will you take that journey with me?
God bless you,
Dayne
