Week 8:Believe God’s Word For Healing

Believe God’s Word for healing: Matthew 8:5:13

When Jesus had entered the city of Capernaum, a Roman centurion approached Him, pleading and saying, “Lord, my servant lies at home paralyzed and dreadfully tormented.”

Jesus replied, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered, “Lord I am not worthy to have You come under my roof, just speak the word and my servant will be healed.” When Jesus heard the centurion, He marveled and said, “Assuredly I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way, as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” That same hour the servant was healed.

A Roman centurion was a military officer who commanded around 80 men. He also had to obey his commanding officer over him. Understanding authority, this centurion had confidence that Jesus was one with authority and had the power to heal. He did not need Jesus to come, only to speak His word. Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1) and when we believe His Word, we can receive his healing, even today. Last week, we learned that Jesus is willing to heal. Today, we learn that it is our belief in His Word that causes us, like the centurion, to receive healing.

Prayer for the week:

Dear Heavenly Father, I’m praying for this child of God as they step into this new week ahead. Bless them to be thankful for this new day and wake up saying, thank God it’s Monday! I pray lord they continue to find joy and gratitude in the little things that happen this week and not let the challenges that come get them down. I pray that they look at any challenge or setback as a setup for something greater. Bless them to be strong, healthy, wealthy, and wise protected from all harm and evil from the top of their head to the bottom of their feet in Jesus name amen!
